Daniel ‘Mamba’ Odoi is a professional video content creator based in Brisbane, Australia. He uses Vouch to collect testimonials and UGC on behalf of his clients. We asked Daniel how Vouch helped speed up and simplify his workflow as a solopreneur.

I was looking for a streamlined, automated video solution

“Many of my clients asked me to help them collect and edit video testimonials and UGC responses from their clients and community. However, I found this was becoming a really challenging, manual process. I was having to individually outreach, brief guide, collect, upload, and then eventually edit content from each of their customers. I was looking for a streamlined, automated solution that would make this a lot faster, and that's how I came across Vouch.”

I would recommend this to solopreneurs, coaches, startups…

“Anyone that has a digital presence online and is looking to elevate the way in which they convey customer testimonials. Written testimonials have their time and place, but I just believe there's so much more authenticity and depth you can create when your customers are literally speaking to their experience in front of a camera.”

Vouch genuinely makes the process so easy

“The best thing about Vouch is that they have literally thought of, and built in, every aspect of the entire journey of video customer testimonial collection.  Everything from providing instructions, to allowing people to schedule a time, sending automated reminders, as well as the ability to easily share, embed, download and edit all of your footage when you have it. I can tell you as a seasoned video content creator and editor, everything there is *chefs kiss*. It's all you need and more and genuinely makes the process so easy for both those doing your testimonials, as well as yourself collecting them.

How to collect high quality video testimonials

Choose the right moment

Timing is everything. Try to give your customer enough time to experience your product or service, but not so long that they lose any of that initial excitement that’ll make the testimonial pop.

Ask open ended questions

Avoid asking your customers questions that could be answered with a simple yes or no. Open-ended questions give them room to tell their story in their own way. A final “Is there anything else you’d like to tell us” question can also lead to some delightful, unexpected responses. Find our list of recommended questions here.

Automate to save you time

Setting up always-on testimonial campaigns can take the leg work out of the collection process. You can set up automations that trigger Vouch requests when customers leave a five star review, or send reminders every couple of days on your behalf. Our integrations can help with this, bringing your video collection process into the tools you use everyday.
